| NON SMOKING AWARD WINNER The Gate Inn was taken over on 25th march 2008 by Colin Phillips & Alex Woodhouse. In January 2005 The Gate was given an extensive refurbishment by the previous landlord Terry Shears, it was decided that after spending so much money on the makeover, that from the start the outlet would operate a no smoking rule, this was to be an instant winner with regulars and newcomers alike, who enjoy a visit to The Gate which is also famous for it's food menu, with home cooked food by The Gate's long time Cook Christine. Customers can now enjoy their meal in a smoke free atmosphere, and be assured of a warm & friendly welome to The Gate Inn.
